Does Apple Have an Employee Morale Problem?

Apple employees are looking to jump ship at record rates, at least according to one new report looking into Tim Cook's first two years as permanent CEO.

Reuters reports hearing from recruiters and former Apple employees working at competitors that more resumes are coming in from Apple employees than ever before.

"I am being inundated by LinkedIn messages and emails both by people who I never imagined would leave Apple and by people who have been at Apple for a year, and who joined expecting something different than what they encountered," one recruiter told Reuters.

In particular, Reuters heard that Apple's hardware engineers are looking for opportunities elsewhere. Apple, for its part, appears to be aware of the issue as the company reportedly conducted a survey of employee morale in the hardware division earlier this year.

This certainly isn't the first report to suggest that Apple might have an employee morale problem under Cook. Trip Chowdhry, an analyst at Global Equities Research, raised red flags earlier this year when he claimed to have heard that more Apple employees were looking for jobs at companies like Google and Facebook.
