SINGAPORE -- Calling potential Apple Genuises in the country, the mothership is hiring.

Apple has started listing jobs on its site for its upcoming Singapore store.

The 14 listings, put up Friday, are for roles such as "business manager", "store leader", "expert" and "creative". Most of them appear to emphasise English-language skills, but being multilingual is a plus for store managers, to cater to the other languages spoken here.

The Singapore store, slated to open in 2016, will be Singapore's first official Apple store. Right now, Apple's only direct presence in the country is through online sales, and brick-and-mortar sales are done through reseller stores.

News of Apple's store coming first broke at the end of October, when a popular fitness club here put out a notice to members that it was able to get bumped out of its existing digs at the Knightsbridge mall in Orchard Road. It said it was moving out because the landlord wanted to make way for an Apple Store.

Despite the very official job listings on its site, Apple told us it didn't have an official announcement to make with regard to opening the Singapore store.
