Apple's iCloud services are back up and running after a seven-hour issue that affected about 40% of users.
The company confirmed on its system status dashboard that users "may have experienced slower than normal response when using most iCloud services."
Eleven services experienced major issues starting around 2:30 a.m. ET. By 9:30 a.m., Apple updated its support page to show that service had been restored.
Affected services included iCloud Mail, iCloud Drive, Photos, Documents, Find My iPhone, Back to My Mac, iCloud Backup, iCloud Keychain, iCloud Mail, iMovie Theater and iWork for iCloud Beta.
Although Apple didn't say how many account holders make up the 40% affected, it's believed there are 500 million iCloud members, bringing the estimate to 200 million users impacted by the slow service issues. It appears the issue affected users worldwide.

While the company said its services have been repaired (and hasn't commented on the reason for the issues), some users are still having problems accessing their accounts.
