Well that was fast.

Apple announced on Monday that the newest version of its mobile software has been in high demand. The company said that more than half of its devices are now using iOS 9. That makes it the fastest ever adoption of a new operating system.

Apple gave the public its first look at the new software at its event in September that also featured the newest versions of the iPhone and iPad.

The quick adoption comes despite a bit of initial trouble with the release that sent some users error messages when they tried to download the software.

Apple introduced the new software during its giant iPhone introduction event two weeks ago.
