Outer space is so mind-bogglingly huge, according to Apple, that only the largest of iPad screens can properly display it.

Ahead of the release of its plus-sized new iPad Pro this week, Apple is releasing a similar pair of commercials, both called "A Great Big Universe," that highlight the graphical capabilities of its biggest tablet yet.

Set to the tune of the Alabama Shakes' "Sound and Color," the new 30-second spots feature vivid cosmic imagery before panning out to reveal an astronomer using the new 12.9-inch screened gadget to plot out equations.

Apple announced earlier on Monday that the new iPad will be available at Apple stores, as well as select carriers and authorized retailers, starting this Wednesday.

The two ads -- one featuring the new Apple Pencil stylus, the other touting the Smart Keyboard -- are a departure from the spate of A-list-studded commercials Apple has used to promote its most recent products.

The campaign will make its on-air debut during Monday Night Football.
