Mountain Lion Is Apple's Most Successful OS Release

Users have downloaded more than 3 million copies of the new version of Apple's PC operating system, Mac OS X 10.8 or Mountain Lion, in its first four days of availability.

This makes Mountain Lion the most successful OS X release in Apple’s history.

“Just a year after the incredibly successful introduction of Lion, customers have downloaded Mountain Lion over three million times in just four days, making it our most successful release ever,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

Mountain Lion brings more than 200 new features, as well as many bug fixes and improvements, and is available through Apple's Mac App Store for $19.99.
