The building in question is called the Hirsch building, and it's located on Amsterdam's Leidseplein. Apple has set up its Dutch headquarters on the third floor, and its retail store is set to occupy a large portion of the building's ground floor.

That space is currently open to visitors as it temporarily hosts an art gallery, OMT claims. You can see the map of the ground floor in the image below, with the space Apple plans to occupy marked red.

Apple has more than 300 stores worldwide, but not that many in Europe. While the company has a very significant presence in the UK with 29 stores, the list of actual European countries it inhabits is short - UK, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France and Spain. A retail store in the Netherlands has been rumored to open for quite some time; perhaps the time has finally come for Dutch customers to start enjoying the benefits of that legendary customer service.

Check out some images of the space Apple is supposed to take over below.
