Apple Lists Eight Samsung Devices It Wants to Ban in the U.S.

Apple has identified eight Samsung products it wants to ban from sale in the United States.

The list is as follows: Galaxy S 4G, AT&T Galaxy S2, Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, Galaxy S2 T-Mobile, Galaxy S2 Epic 4G, Galaxy S Showcase, Droid Charge and Galaxy Prevail.

Apple has published the list after a federal jury in San Jose, Calif. decided Samsung has “willfully” infringed on five of seven Apple patents, awarding Apple approximately $1.05 billion in damages.

Barnes & Noble announces first Nook retail partner in the UK

B&N has announced John Lewis as its first Nook retail partner in the UK. John Lewis will offer Nook devices in each of its 37 UK stores, as well as on www.johnlewis.com.

Barnes & Noble recently announced the Nook is coming to the UK in October -- the company's first international expansion.

Apple Promotes Craig Federighi and Dan Riccio

Apple announced it has promoted Craig Federighi, Apple’s vice president of Mac Software Engineering, and Dan Riccio, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, to senior vice presidents. The two will report to Apple CEO Tim Cook and serve on Apple’s executive management team.

Furthermore, Apple announced Bob Mansfield, who announced his retirement in June, will remain at Apple and work on future products.
