The Telegraph reports that Apple sent a letter to In Icons calling on the company to cease sales of the 12-inch doll. The newspaper doesn't cite any sources for the story, which states that Apple stipulated in the latter that "any toy that resembles the technology company's logo, person's name, appearance or likeness of its products is a criminal offence."

Reps from In Icons and Apple could not be reached for comment on the report.

News of the In Icon's plans surfaced around New Year's, when the company began featuring the action figure on its website. The product was set to go on sale in February for $109.99 with shipping. The figurine is extremely detailed and more realistic than a previous action figure from M.I.C. Gadget -- he's even wearing a wedding ring.

Based on that product's history, the Steve Jobs doll may not stick around very long. In November 2010, Apple's law firm sent a letter to M.I.C. Gadget, calling on the company to pull the product. M.I.C. promptly complied. If the In Icons Steve Jobs do get pulled, they'll likely become a collector's item. Some of the action figures are already available on eBay for a premium above InIcons's suggested retail price.
