Apple rocked the tech world at the 2012 Apple Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC), announcing updates to iOS, MacBook and Siri, plus a highly-anticipated Facebook integration.

iOS 6 was the real showstopper at Monday's keynote address. Scott Forstall, senior vice president of iOS software, introduced a laundry list of updates to the new operating system, which will be available on iPad, iPhone and iPod devices come fall.

The keynote audience oohed and aahed in downtown San Francisco's Moscone Center when Forstall announced the system-wide integration of Facebook. Everything from contacts, events and birthdays will be integrated into iOS 6, and a public API means developers will be able to add Facebook access to their apps, as well.

Twitter saw a major boost after its integration into iOS 5 — Apple reported that 10 billion tweets have been sent from its operating system. What the new partnership with Facebook will yield remains to be seen.

Apple also announced updates to its line of MacBooks. The new MacBook Air will enjoy a major power upgrade with a third-generation Core processor with Intel turbo boosting, up to 3.2GHz. The computers will also sport up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of flash storage. "The Next Generation MacBook Pro" will overhaul the existing computer; the retina display and 15.4-inch 2880 x 1800 screen makes it the world's highest-resolution notebook display. The Next Generation is about as thin as a MacBook Air, and is the ligtest MacBook Pro in Apple history.

In other news, Siri got a whole lot smarter (and culture-savvy, we might add). And Apple is moving away from Google Maps with its own version, which offers Siri integration, 3D flyover and turn-by-turn navigation. For a full rundown of all of the updates announced at WWDC, check out the Mashable articles below.
