Apple's 'Genius' Ads Disappear From the Olympics

[nggallery id=6735]

Have you noticed that Apple's much-debated "Genius" ads have disappeared from the Olympics?

Well, you're not imagining things. A rep for TBWA/Media/Arts Lab, Apple's ad agency, says the ads are not running anymore, but that was the plan all along. The ads were intended only for a "first run" during the Olympics, which meant just the first weekend of the Games, the rep says.

Apple could not be reached for comment.

The company, known for its brilliant marketing, got some flak for the new round of ads when they premiered during the opening weekend of the Games. The three commercials show a “Genius,” someone you would encounter at your Genius Bar appointment, in other settings where his savvy comes to the rescue.
