Arteis, the privately held parent company of Logoworks and LogoMaker, has been acquired by HP for an undisclosed amount.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Arteis has been profitable since the summer of 2002, and pulled in about $3.5 million in 2004. Arteis provides enterprise solutions for small businesses seeking logo designs, business cards and other package services. The Arteis' model operates in a similar fashion to guru, which creates a marketplace for freelancers and gives them a platform to manage their own projects. They also incorporate collaborative efforts to bring forth quality and options for their customers.
