Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team announced Thursday morning they are working on building "the ultimate hypercar," making me wish I were a wealthy man.

The project is called the AM-RM-001. It will combine the technology of Red Bull Racing's hybrid Formula 1 cars with the brain-aching beauty of Aston Martin's sports cars. Imagine the Vulcan or the newly debuted DB11 but longer, wingier (totally a word) and also much, much, much faster.

Cool, right?

What's more, Aston and Red Bull won't be constrained by the stringent Formula 1 regulations but instead only by their imaginations and, well, let's be honest, physics. That means this thing will be pretty darn amazing by all rights. If you're wondering what the AM-RB-001 would compete with, imagine it taking on the Ferrari LaFerrari or perhaps, in a more mental way, the Bugatti Chiron.

The companies have not yet announced a timeline for the AM-RB-001. However, if asked to make an educated guess, I'd say look for it in 2019 or 2020. Also, given the fact that they've put a three digit number code at the end of the project moniker, it could mean there will be more than one of these Aston Martin Red Bull hypercars.

Either way, I now know that I have only a few more years to become insanely wealthy so that, when they go on sale, I can afford one.
