After confirming that the carrier update would be rolled out "sometime late morning Pacific time," MMS support is up and kicking! Party like it's 2002!

As Mashable's Ben Parr discussed yesterday, today's MMS launch could very well determine the fate of Apple's iPhone exclusivity contract. So how did AT&T do?

We monitored AT&T's coverage and performed some tests of our own. Our conclusion? It looks like the launch was smooth and uneventful. Downloading and installing the very small carrier update was pretty painless, and now users have the benefit of receiving photos like this from their friends:

According to unscientific Twitter results, there were few complaints about wireless coverage. It looks like AT&T was able to stagger the rollout to prevent a crush of users requesting data (please though, let us know if your service actually did crash in the comments). Of course, only time will tell if MMS support significantly impacts AT&T's already taxed network.

So iPhone users, does the fact that AT&T (finally) has MMS support change your overall satisfaction with your phone? Non-iPhone users, does MMS support change your mind about the iPhone or AT&T? Let us know in the comments.
