Introducing the dumbest thief currently on the loose in Australia.
The man, who has not been arrested by police, attempted to pinch an ATM from a service station in Townsville, Queensland. The man is seen on CCTV trying to attach a chain from the stolen ute (pickup truck) he is driving to an ATM within the store. After breaking a window, he gets his chain caught on a sunglasses stand. This foils his smooth robbery attempt.
The chain can be seen coming unhooked from the part connected to the ute, without the crim noticing. After securing the ATM he drives off with no cash machine dragging behind. He pulls back in, makes a ridiculous attempt at dragging the ATM closer with his bare hands, before giving up and driving off.
