AT&T Sued by Washington, D.C., Over Unused Calling Cards

Washington, D.C. has filed a lawsuit against AT&T claiming that the telecom company should turn over unused calling card balances.

The attorney general's office argues: "AT&T's prepaid calling cards must be treated as unclaimed property under district law," and thus the AT&T balances are Washington, D.C.'s property if they have not been used for three years and the customer's last known address was in Washington, D.C.
