The app lets you keep two completely separate profiles on your Android device, one personal and the other for work. Corporate email, calendars, apps and data will only be accessible through the work profile.
An employer's IT admins will be able to allocate various resources to different users through a special web portal. They will also be able to manage, add and delete business apps present in the work profile or even wipe corporate data from the device.
AT&T foresees a big demand for such an app. According to its estimates, 50 million employees in the U.S. could benefit from mobile business apps. The company also cites a July report from Forrester Research that says nearly 60% of companies allow employees to use personal devices for work.
The app should become available later this year for devices running Android 2.2 or newer.
