Australia has a lot of things going for it: great beaches, a big, beautiful rock smack bang in the centre of it, and an island right at the bottom that is known to glow blue occasionally.
To celebrate one of the best things about Australia -- the weather -- the federal government's Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has released a calendar that showcases some amazing weather events that happen across the country.
The photos are sourced from an annual competition, where more than 800 entrants submitted photos to be displayed on one of Australia's most popular calendars, the Australian Weather Calendar. You can also buy your own at the BOM's online store.
