authorSTREAM, the site that allows you to send PowerPoint Presentations straight to YouTube, your iPod, and your blog, has released today its newest feature: Present Live. Present Live allows you to share your PowerPoint Presentation with a selected group of friends and contacts on the Internet in real time.
What I like about authorSTREAM, and Present Live in particular, is that the service is user-friendly. It takes all of two seconds to upload a PowerPoint and just click the 'Present Live' link to share the presentation with whomever you choose. I can see this working well not only at conferences but also in the classroom where students and teachers can easily interact through the Internet -- giving the "dog ate my homework" excuse a way out the door.
Of course, live Web meetings aren't exactly a ground-breaking discovery. There are services like TalkShoe and Skype for audio and video conferencing. Likewise, other document sharing sites exist such as SlideShare, Scribd, ZohoShow, and ThinkFree Office Suite.
