Avanoo, the site aiming to tap into crowd wisdom to answer the questions of the world, emerges from limited beta on Wednesday with a new Wisdom Bank feature.
Users can now deposit wisdom into Avanoo, and get returns in the form of wisdom from the other members on the site. The goal is to accept 100 million deposits from a diverse set of communities, in only 100 days. This ambitious launch promotion is quite lofty for a start-up, but it is possible. In order to leave a deposit, users only have to add their vote to a particular question. The diversity comes into play with the increased activity of various users from different backgrounds and geographical locations, all contributing to the same data set. As mentioned in our initial review of Avanoo, these data sets can be broken down to see the demographics of those that have taken part, to get statistical information regarding the community wisdom you're looking at.
