B.B. King, blues legend and tireless touring machine, has died at the age of 89. King has long suffered with complications from his Type 2 diabetes, which in recent years has caused him to reduce his tour schedule from a record 300+ shows a year to barely 100 stops.
In addition to his masterful guitar skills, King has always been a font of honest knowledge and advice, publishing an autobiography in 2009 and continuing to give candid interviews up until his last hospitalization in April of this year.
Speaking about everything from his musical inspirations to his favorite songs, his guitar style, and his relationship with his mother, B.B. King could always be counted on to be honest, funny, and true -- just like his signature songs.
