Just before 8-year-old Bailey Matthews completed a triathlon, the little boy with cerebral palsy abandoned his walker to cross the finish line.

Matthews competed in the Castle Howard Triathlon -- his first ever -- on Saturday in North Yorkshire, England. For children Matthews' age, the race consists of a 100-meter lake swim, 4,000-kilometer bike ride and 1,300-meter run.

As Matthews rounded the corner in the final stretch of the race, he tossed off his walker and finished out race unaided while the crowd cheered him on.
