There's a "social media photo booth" at the Olympic Village in Sochi and the idea is simple, but cool: Athletes step into the booth, take a selfie, share it online. The space is also a convenient place to connect with other Olympians IRL.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has posted several of the photos to Facebook, and here's one of Team USA women's bobsledder Elana Meyers.

On Thursday, however, the selfie booth got a more high profile visitor than Meyers -- a more high profile visitor than probably any Olympian, in fact. Here's a selfie from none other than United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, which the IOC shared exclusively with Mashable on Friday.

Now we can add another entry to the list of reasons the Olympics are so captivating. After all, where else are you going to see a selfie from the secretary-general of the United Nations himself?
