Swedish music festival Ice Music really knows how to heat up a crowd. Working with instruments made almost entirely of ice -- except for strings, fret boards and other parts -- groups perform energetic songs with classical, rock and world music influences.

Ice Music is comprised of seven bands playing different musical styles from pop to world music. There are 40 concerts over the span of the festival. The band playing on the video is called Whiteroom.

Made by founder Tim Linhart, who sculpts the bodies of the curvy instruments by hand, each "ICEstrument" is made of several sheets of ice and lit up by colorful lights that mimic the northern lights of the Swedish Lapland.

Their cavern-like concert hall is also covered in ice, which makes for a very chilly destination for music lovers. The festival offers some helpful tips on staying warm at their venue on their website, along with music clips and some excellent photographs of their performances.
