Baseball MVP Delivers Heart-Melting Proposal Live on 'Ellen'

If you're not familiar with Andrew McCutchen, he's MLB's reigning National League MVP after leading the Pittsburgh Pirates to their best season in just about forever.

He's also, apparently, quite the romantic.

McCutchen recently delivered an MVP-worthy marriage proposal to his girlfriend of four years, live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It included dropping to one knee. It included a bouquet of roses. It included festive holiday decor. It included a drawn-out baseball metaphor.

In short, it was the extremely aww-inducing marriage proposal to make nearly all other marriage proposals look dull and half-baked. Check out the YouTube video above for proof.

"I didn't do this for the publicity," McCutchen tells his girlfriend, Maria, midway through. "I didn't do this for the recognition."

Well, guess what, Andrew? There's plenty coming your way. Thanks for making the rest of us look like losers, Mr. MVP.
