Stray Baseball Turns Selfie Into Near-Death Experience

There are several reasons one should be wary before talking a selfie -- generally seeming gratuitous and catching yourself at a bad angle are the leading factors against the photo trend. But this reporter's near death experience adds fatal head injury to the selfie con list.

Kelly Nash, a reporter for Fox's Sun Sports, was attending the Astros-Red Sox game and decided to document the experience with some Instagram selfies using Fenway Park as her backdrop.

But Nash failed to see the danger lurking during batting practice -- stray photobombing balls.

She told Fox Sports that her producer called out "Heads up!" a few times while she took pictures, but she never realized just how close the baseballs were getting to her.

Nash claims she had a lucky charm packed in bag that kept her noggin safe -- a copy of the 1994 baseball flick Angels in the Outfield.

But we think it was the selfie gods warning Nash about abusing the delicate art of taking pictures of oneself. We urge you to apply this lesson to your own life when indulging in selfies, and really ask yourself, "Is this picture worth getting a ball to the head?"
