Reports of Basecamp going down started appearing on Twitter more than an hour ago, and their status blog confirms that "Basecamp is currently experiencing issues." The company says that "Basecamp is coming back on a fresh server."
Although we don't know what is plaguing the company's servers, we do know that the problem isn't unique to Basecamp, as their web-based CRM tool, Highrise, was also experiencing issues earlier this morning.
One of the major drawbacks to providing online solutions to business and enterprise clients is the fact that when your cloud solution goes down, your customers are unable to get their work done (which means they have time to post angry tweets). Here's hoping that 37signals can get these issues resolved in the very near future.
