You've Never Seen a Basketball Game End Quite Like This

If you've ever seriously played basketball, you've had the nightmare: A game-winning shot, a chance at glory ... then something goes horribly, horribly wrong.

That exact scenario nearly played out Saturday night for the Grandview High School Greyhounds in Washington state. With seconds left in a 65-65 tie game, Grandview stole the ball from Prosser High School with just enough time for a game-winning layup. We won't spoil what happened next, so just watch the video, above.

That's it. The ball just got stuck there. No last-second roll through the net for an improbable win. No last-second roll off the rim for a heartbreaking loss. The ball. Just. Sat. There.

But all's well that ends well, right? The game went into overtime, where Grandview won 72-70 to preserve an undefeated season, according to high-school sports publication MaxPreps.

Talk about a team of destiny.
