Halloween in Gotham City is not a friendly place for the Batman.

Rocksteady Studios has a history of hiding date-specific Easter eggs inside its Arkham series, and the freshly released Arkham Knight continues that tradition. Halloween is still months away -- but it's already possible to check out this little extra by either following a few simple steps or watching the video above.

Needless to say, mild spoilers await.

First, complete Arkham Knight's "Creature of the Night" questline, which involves tracking down and capturing a familiar Batman villain. Once that's done, set your console/PC clock to Oct. 31.

That's it: Fire up the game and zip around the Gotham City skyline. It's not clear if you have to visit your "Creature of the Night" prisoner at GCPD headquarters first (that's what happens in the video), but the goal is to trigger a brief cutscene among Gotham's rooftops. After that's happened, head back to GCPD HQ for a little bit of additional dialogue.
