No one said it was going to be easy for the Battfleck. Luckily, Wonder Woman is here to save his bat butt in the new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
In the film's first trailer, which Warner Bros. debuted at Comic-Con, we got but a few fleeting glimpses of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The latest, which debuted Wednesday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, has Princess Diana of Themyscira fighting with the feuding superheroes, who set aside their differences to unite against a common foe.
That would be Doomsday, the big, ugly, Superman-affiliated supervillain who, in the comics at least, is an ancient being from Krytpton (and the only one to have once "killed" Superman). From this trailer, it appears that Doomsday may be a creation of Supes' arch nemesis Lex Luthor (played by a tone-shifting Jesse Eisenberg), who at least seems to have fashioned -- or conjured -- the giant alien ogre from the well-preserved remains of General Zod (Michael Shannon in Man of Steel).
In any case, the arrival of Doomsday saves Ben Affleck's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman from one another; then Wonder Woman saves them both from Doomsday.
Clearly there's some trailer trickery at play here, but the point is this: Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are finally fighting shoulder-to-shoulder. It's like we're witnessing the dawn of the Justice League or something.
