The BBC iPlayer has been approved for distribution, allowing BBC shows to be made available for on-demand viewing.

The BBC iPlayer shows BBC programming after it's been aired on television, giving viewers a chance to catch up on their favorite programs. After a sucessful test period, the iPlayer has been approved, enabling viewers to watch, download and store programs for up to 30 days. The iPlayer only works on Windows PCs in the UK, but a Mac version should be in the works. These terms are slightly different than other major broadcast networks, as they do allow for the downloading of shows without purchase. The BBC iPlayer is planned to launch later on this year.

In other BBC news, their show Sorted is being distributed through Vuze, and a non-exclusive distribution deal with YouTube, launching three channels of high quality programming from the BBC .
