A restaurant server and his boss performed a small act of kindness for a servicewoman hoping to honor her brother, a fallen solider who was killed in Iraq.

Brian Avery, the server at Buffalo Wild Wings in Tacoma, Washington, wrote on Facebook that a woman in the military came to his restaurant by herself for lunch on July 9, and ordered two beers -- a Blue Moon and Corona. When the server informed her that she was only allowed to order one beer at a time, she explained herself.

"She said the Corona was for her brother who died in Iraq and I won't be drinking it," Avery wrote. He obliged, and added that the drink remained next to her at an empty seat throughout the meal.

When Avery brought the customer her bill, he said that Buffalo Wild Wings would pay for the Corona. She left a short and touching note on the credit card slip.

After the customer left, Avery wrote, he "didn't have the heart" to pour out the beer. So instead, he placed it on top of a cooler beside an American flag. When he asked his boss for permission, Avery was blown away by his response: "That's fine, just do me a favor, put a fresh lime in it every morning."
