Ten years ago, the Boxing Day Tsunami struck Indonesia.

A 9.2 magnitude earthquake in the Indian Ocean caused one of the deadliest natural disasters in history. The earthquake triggered a series of tsunamis that devasted the coastlines of Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. The waves of the tsunami first hit the Aceh province on Sumatra and killed an estimated 230,000 people in Indonesia.
