This is a great bridge between the creative and the more professional social networking worlds. At the Mashable Media Summit earlier this summer, Co-founder and CEO of Behance Scott Belsky spoke about the growth of the network and its focus on bringing creative meritocracy to the design world.

Behance has always been focused on helping organize the creative world. To that end, the free Behance Network lets artists, designers and other creative professionals showcase their projects and portfolios. With the new LinkedIn partnership, the potential audience for Behance members increases exponentially.

Using the Creative Portfolio Display LinkedIn app, Behance.net members can sync their portfolios directly with LinkedIn. Users can pick and choose what projects they want to showcase and the app has a really nice interface for viewing projects all on the social networking site.

This is fantastic because as well-known as Behance is in the creative community, it's not as well known in the broader business community. What better way to showcase your talents that to hook in your existing portfolio? The fact that visitors don't have to leave LinkedIn to view your work is an added bonus.

If you're a creative professional already on LinkedIn, but you don't have a Behance account, check out this page to sign up. If you already have a Behance.net account, you can go here and install the Creative Portfolio Display app on your own LinkedIn profile.
