Presidential candidate Ben Carson attended an event on Thursday at the Isaac Newton Christian School in Iowa with a room packed with children and parents. Now topping his cringe list, Carson asked the students in the room to point to the worst student in class.

W/ crowd of 500 @RealBenCarson just called out to 5th grade class: who's dumbest kid in class? At least half dozen kids point to 1 student.— Timothy Meinch (@timeinch) January 7, 2016

To give Carson a little bit of credit, he was apparently joking and attempting to relate to the kids by telling them he was once the worst student in class, but unfortunately, a number of children answered Carson's call-to-action and about half dozen kids all pointed to one child before Carson could say he was joking.

Carson, as you may know, is not known for his brisk talking speed.

Direct @RealBenCarson quote to 5th grade class (in crowd of 500) was: "who's the worst student?" Then talked about how he also was #iacaucus— Timothy Meinch (@timeinch) January 7, 2016

According to The Hill, the 10-year-old boy later said that he wasn't embarrassed by the incident, and Carson took a moment to meet with him after the event.

TL;DR: Don't let Carson near your kids.
