I remember my first week at college. I got a bunch of free stuff from the Diag, like a fishbowl, and a fish (it died after about 7 hours). I also got a Student Advantage card. That thing came in handy. Book discounts, train ticket discounts, movie theater discounts, car insurance discounts... all sorts of discount goodness. So I'm not the least bit surprised that the recently acquired beRecruited, a social network for high school athletes, is teaming up with Student Advantage to offer a free one-year membership for a co-branded card.

Student Advantage gets access to thousands of high school students right as they're about to go to college, and beRecruited gets to add value to the components of its site.
