Retailer Best Buy's website was down Wednesday morning and won't be back up until 3 p.m. ET, according to a message on the site.

"Pardon the inconvenience," reads the message, "the site is temporarily unavailable due to planned maintenance." According to an FAQ, the site has been down since 10 p.m. ET Tuesday. At the moment, there's no way to buy merchandise online from the retailer, though a Weekly Ad and Store Locator on the site still work for those who are willing to go to the brick-and-mortar stores. Various other related sites, including Best Buy Community Forum are still operational.

The company also says that products ordered online before the site went down will continue to be processed, though such customers will not receive emails about the progress of their shipments.

The latter is a sore point for Best Buy. During the 2011 holiday season, the retailer ran out of goods and had to cancel some orders, angering customers. Best Buy wasn't the only retailer to experience issues at that time: Target's website crashed multiple times in November as well.
