In the US alone, more than 11 billion videos are viewed online every month. While nearly half of those are viewed on YouTube, this year saw the emergence of Hulu, the joint venture between NBC Universal and News Corp that has sent other video sites scrambling to sign deals with movie studios and TV networks.
Live video has also started to gain some momentum, with sites like UStream, Justin.tv, Stickam, Qik, and others letting anyone stream from their bedroom, their makeshift studio, or their cell phone.
