LONDON -- Beth Ditto has come along way from altering thrift-store finds in Arkansas, launching her first stand-alone, plus-size fashion collection to celebrate "beauty at any size."
The Gossip front woman's unique style has seen her become a fashion icon in her own right, recently walking the runway at Marc Jacobs' SS16 show.
Her journey from thrift store to high fashion has inspired Ditto to create a vintage-look, ready-to-wear collection without the need for alterations.
“I wanted to make pieces to last years. Beyond trends, beyond chain stores. I wanted to create something all its own, something just for us, made with love and consideration," says Ditto.
Ditto described the collection for UK sizes 14 to 28 as "uncompromising, unapologetic, and timeless," and "a movement by us, for us."
The collection features vibrant vintage-detail dresses in silks and rayons, tailored pencil skirts, silk bubble dresses and hand-embroidered vintage denim jackets.
Ditto launches her new collection in London on Thursday; a city that has provided endless fashion inspiration for the singer-turned-designer.
“Every time I go to London I feel inspired. Everyone looks incredible. Londoners have a certain look,” she told the Evening Standard.
The collection is available globally online and at Selfridges in the UK.
