YouTubers Bethany Mota and Glozell join 2016 Makers Conference line-up

LOS ANGELES -- YouTubers GloZell Green and Bethany Mota are joining the list of growing stars -- including Caitlyn Jenner, Katie Couric and Gloria Steinem -- at this year's Makers Conference, Mashable has exclusively learned.

The second annual event, which will take place in Palos Verdes, Calif. in February, will feature sessions focusing on tangible solutions and calls-to-action around gender equality. The them of of the event is "#TheTimeisNow."

For the first time, the conference will also be livestreamed on Verizon’s go90 platform and on makers.com.

Green, who has more than 4 million subscribers, and lifestyle video blogger Mota, who has almost 10 million, will take the stage to talk about their personal stories and how they came to YouTube.

Mota, a 20-year-old California native, first began vlogging make-up and fashion tips on her YouTube channel in 2009. Last year, Business Insider estimated she makes $40,000 a month on her videos. She has also been a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Though Green is older than the average YouTube star, she quickly rose to fame beginning in 2008. She also stars in her own show for go90.

Both digital influencers were among the YouTubers selected to interview President Obama last year.

Their Makers conference panel will also include discussion about how they stay true to their brands given external pressures and what they are both doing to help stop bullying

Other confirmed participants include actress Halle Berry, Kevin Huvane, power agent and managing partner of Creative Artists Agency, Treasurer for the U.S. Rosie Rios, Marvel’s director of content development Sana Amanat, comedian and performer Bridget Everett, American soccer player and two-time Olympic gold medalist Abby Wambach, students fromSTEM education not-for-profit Black Girls Code and FDNY firefighter Regina Wilson.

Also returning this year: Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and U.S. Chief Technology Officer Megan Smith.

The event is hosted by AOL’s Makers, a women’s leadership platform that highlights the stories of groundbreaking women. Currently the website features original interviews with over 300 Makers and includes over 3,000 videos.
