They have finally spoken.

After a tumultuous week of guessing, speculating and attempting to contact the Illuminati, the world can finally sleep soundly tonight, knowing the infamous elevator brawl between Jay Z and Solange Knowles (and, by extension, Beyoncé) is "over."

The Carter-Knowles family released a joint statement to the Associated Press on Thursday stating their family has "worked through it."

The statement continues:

Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.

Footage from the Standard Hotel in New York City was leaked Monday to TMZ, showing singer Solange Knowles allegedly attacking her brother-in-law. The fight was widely believed to be sparked by Solange using Jay Z's name to get her friends access into a party following the Met Gala. It was also rumored that Jay Z and Solange argued about Jay Z's intention to attend Rihanna's after party without Beyoncé.

Both Solange and Beyoncé have taken to Instagram this week to express support for their families, posting images of one another.

So, that's that. We'll all move forward (yeah, right).
