Justin Bieber Challenges Grammys With Live Stream

Absent from last night's celebrity festivities, Justin Bieber seemingly attempted to steal some spotlight from the Grammys. The Biebs invited his fans to an hour-long live stream, conveniently scheduled at the same time as the award show.

Hours before he took the stage for Saturday Night Live, Bieber tweeted an invitation to a live video stream session of new music and some Q&A time. The 18-year-old didn't receive any Grammy nominations this year; perhaps he had some purposeful counter-programming in mind?

I'm gonna do an hour live video stream tomorrow at 8 est I'm gonna play some new music and answer questions send this to ur friend :)— Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) February 9, 2013

But things didn't go as smoothly as he hoped, and the pop star went back to Twitter and Instagram with his frustrations. Beliebers' enthusiasm seemed to crash Ustream, sending the site overcapacity. Check out the video, above, for more.

since nothing is working and im super upset i feel i gotta make it up to u.i should post a new song on twitter so you can still be excited— Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) February 11, 2013

He blamed his slow connection on being on vacation and instead posted a video for his fans. An apologetic, shirtless Biebs can be seen playing a clip of his new song, with a cameo from his two younger siblings.
