Simpson-Bowles is the nickname given to a commission on fiscal stability and the plan generated by that commission, which was ultimately rejected. Dodd-Frank, meanwhile, is a set of reforms meant to strengthen the financial industry following the recession of 2008-2009. Why was "Big Bird" trending? Mitt Romney brought up the children's favorite when discussing ways to reduce wasteful spending, instantly generating the top meme of the night.
