Big Bird showed up to Flock the Vote in Austin, Texas on Election Day.

Austin Statesman reporter and resident jokester John Kelso flew the coop (or the oversized nest?) and landed at a polling station dressed as the friendly feathered Muppet. Kelso made sure to check with local officials about the legality of dressing like a giant yellow bird while casting a ballot prior to showing up on Tuesday.

"I checked with the head of the elections division, and he said that, no, it is not illegal to vote in a Big Bird outfit,” Ginny Ballard, a spokeswoman for the clerk’s office in Travis County, told the Statesman.

Now we're all just left to wonder who Elmo tossed his support behind.
