One man is probably reconsidering his choice in buddies after a night out drinking led to an embarrassing morning in which firemen had to use a circular saw to get a bike lock off his head.

An unnamed man in his 20's was taken to Coventry Fire Station by his mother after he woke up to a steel bike lock fixed around his neck.

"He woke up at about 16:00 BST and found his mates had put the lock round his neck and his mates had thrown away the keys," Station Commander Pete Drummond told the BBC.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));Posted by West Midlands Fire Service on Monday, June 22, 2015

The firefighters couldn't cut through the lock with a reenforced bar cutter and had to resort to using a fire blanket and a large circular saw to get it off because, you know, a locksmith would have been too easy.
