Chris Christie may have BridgeGate, but Bill de Blasio just got slammed by PizzaGate.
The New York City mayor was caught eating pizza in a very un-New York fashion during lunch Friday at Goodfellas Pizza on Staten Island. de Blasio was seen eating the pie with -- GASP -- a fork and knife.

At times, de Blasio even flip-flopped between utensils and his hand. Apparently no one informed the good mayor about New York's fold-and-consume method.
Pizza-gate update. BdB eats half slice at SI's Goodfellas pizzeria w/fork; half w hand. Acceptable, friends? #SCANDALO— Josh Robin (@joshrobin) January 10, 2014

The mayor, originally hailing from Cambridge, Mass., clearly hasn't shed his roots yet. Cries for impeachment have already been heard far and wide on Twitter.

It seems de Blasio, aware of the outcry, tried to get ahead of PizzaGate with this tweet:
Staten Island's Goodfellas Pizza -- good however you slice it. pic.twitter.com/MxKhHaf1ID— Bill de Blasio (@BilldeBlasio) January 10, 2014
He also tried to dispel critics by saying he picked up on the utensil habit in Italy.
.@BilldeBlasio explains pizza-eating strategy by saying he's visited Italy several times and they use fork there. Then, he switches to hands— Jonathan Lemire (@JonLemire) January 10, 2014
No word yet if constituents have been appeased by his attempts to diffuse the sticky situation. Check back for updates on PizzaGate as news surfaces.
