Bill Nye's film is now the most funded Kickstarter documentary ever

Bill Nye's documentary is off to a record start.

The science educator's Kickstarter-backed film is now the crowdfunding site's most funded documentary. With a pledged goal of $650,000, the project has now raised $757,296, and there are still 36 hours left in its fundraising drive.

The Leonard Nimoy and Spock documentary For the Love of Spock previously held the Kickstarter documentary record, raising $662,640 in four weeks.

Nye is, understandably, excited about the record-breaking documentary, writing a lengthy Facebook post to thank all the "passionate fans, and the science community at large."
