The haunting original BioShock is being ported to iOS devices later this summer, 2K Games announced Monday.

The last-gen favorite received a touchscreen revamp to bring its first-person shooter controls to mobile. Fans can explore the sunken world of Rapture from the original game, with no bit of the story excluded for mobile. Screenshots seem to indicate the game did lose some texture and lighting quality to fit on mobile, though.

The port is being programmed by 2K China, not by the game's original creator Irrational Games, which shut down most operations earlier this year.

BioShock will run only on newer iOS devices, including the iPad Air, iPad mini 2, fourth generation iPad, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5. 2K Games has yet to announce a price or release date, only saying the game will be a "premium" title that will be out "later this summer."

BioShock won several game of the year awards for its 2007 release, and received wide critical acclaim for its story, themes of choice in gaming and chilling atmosphere.
