Splicers gather in 'BioShock'

BioShock's mobile port is arriving on iPhones and iPads Wednesday night, according to 2K Games.

The mobile port of the last-gen classic was announced earlier this month. BioShock for iOS will feature the full game that originally appeared on console and PC in 2007, with scaled back graphics so it can run on mobile hardware.

BioShock features touch controls to replicate the first-person shooter control scheme of the original game. The port was created by 2K Games China-based studio.

2K Games also announced the title will be available for $14.99, which is something of a higher price point than mobile gamers might be used to. The PC version is on sale via Steam for $19.99, though it can frequently be nabbed for cheaper on sale.

BioShock will run only on newer iOS devices, including the iPad Air, iPad mini 2, fourth generation iPad, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5.

The game will arrive in the App Store around 11 p.m. ET; new games typically arrive on iOS at that time each Wednesday.
