For Apple fanatics who crave accessories and attachments for their beloved iProducts, one website acts as a hub for successful Kickstarter projects that provide additions to devices from the Cupertino, Calif. company.
Described as a "one-stop shop," BiteMyApple.co showcases some of the most successful Kickstarter projects that offer accessories for the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and MacBook Air, among other products.
The website has a grid-like layout that includes a thumbnail photo of each product, as well as its name and price. Clicking on the thumbnail leads users to a more in-depth description of the product, and the option to add it to their cart.
Kickstarter projects featured on Bite My Apple include: Facet, a magnetic stand for the iPad; Kioky, a screen protector for the iPhone 4 or 4S; OCDock, an iPhone docking station; Snooze, an alarm clock that works with the iPhone; and Auris, a Bluetooth-based music receiver that lets users play tunes wirelessly from any iDevice through a docking station.
Kickstarter has become an increasingly popular option for entrepreneurs to take their products to market. Last May, the company reported that it raised over $200 million from over 2 million backers.
One of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns of 2012 was for Pebble, an iPhone-friendly wristwatch that had a modest goal of $100,000, but ended up receiving an impressive $10.2 million in pledges.
